The Path towards Sustainability: An Inside Look at the Road to Rio+20
Leading up to Rio+20 in June, negotiations on the draft outcome document and preparatory
meetings are being held around the world, to incorporate global perspectives and
discuss substantive and procedural issues in preparation for the conference. Aside
from the official preparations, civil society organizations are sponsoring many
events on the side to bring the voices of youth and other stakeholders into the
process. The official conference in Rio only represents the final stage of the negotiations;
it is the road to Rio that will form the true substance of the agreement. It’s all
