DRC Families Strategize to not Lose each other Fleeing from Violence
Fighting in the northeast Democratic Republic of the Congo which began in late April between government soldiers and defectors from the army has reportedly caused tens of thousands of Congolese to be displaced. Clashes in the Masisi region of North Kivu province alone have forced some 15,000 IDPs to flee says the UN, but thanks to a UNICEF partner, AVSI, set up a community program resulting in only 68 children who were separated from their parents thanks to techniques learned to not lose each other when fleeing .
